Data Retention & Deletion

This page describes how long CaseProof retains your data, what happens when you cancel or delete your account, and how to request deletion.

Active Account Retention

Matter data, files, and case documents are retained for as long as your account is active. There is no automatic expiration of data while your subscription is in good standing.

In-App Deletion

  • You can delete individual files and evidence items at any time from within the application.
  • You can delete entire matters (cases) at any time. Deletion removes all associated files, chronologies, and generated outputs.
  • Deletions are permanent and are not recoverable after the fact.

Account Deletion

To delete your account and all associated data, submit a request to support@case-proof.com with your account email. All data is permanently deleted within 30 days of the confirmed request.

Subscription Cancellation

Upon subscription cancellation, your data is retained for 90 days to allow for export. After 90 days, data is permanently deleted unless you have submitted an export request. To export your data before deletion, contact support@case-proof.com.

Backups

  • Automated daily backups are managed by Supabase and retained for 7 days.
  • Backups are encrypted at rest and are not accessible to end users directly.
  • Backup retention exists for disaster recovery purposes only and does not extend the data deletion timeline for user deletion requests.

Exported Files

Files exported from CaseProof (PDF, DOCX) are not retained on CaseProof servers after download. The export is generated on demand and delivered directly to your browser.
